Guest Post: Domesticated Diva Printable

Hey guys!

It's Missy again, from The Domesticated Diva. I promised a printable and I keep my word!

To save to your computer, just click the image below to enlarge, then right click to save to your desktop. Print as often as you need!

This is my weekly to-do list. This is not detailed cleaning, this is just maintenance. There are also monthly chores that I do, along with seasonal ones. The goal is for your house to stay clean(ish) without you ever having to do a major overhaul. I don't know about you, but my brain gets a little fried if my house lies in chaos.
Here are some tips for a good home routine:
1. Find what works for you:
For example, I may switch my tasks on Monday to Wednesday. We have church on Wednesday nights, so I think that it would be better to have a shorter task list on those nights. So think of which nights you have more time, and which nights you have less and schedule from there!

2. Share:
There are certain chores that I hate (like pairing socks) that my husband doesn't mind doing. Delegate tasks so that you don't have all the chores on your shoulders and all of your family members are contributing.

3. Perfectionism is a no-no!
If you take a clean house too seriously, it will be a museum instead of a home! I know people who have "good towels" that are hung but never to be used. I don't see the point of that. Allow you and your family to actually live in your home- that's what it's for!
What does your weekly routine look like?

  1. I have come up with 5 daily tasks. Every day I make the bed, clean kitchen counters, do the dishes, and de-clutter. The fifth task changes daily: Vacuum/floors (2x), Laundry (2x), Dust, Sheets/towels, Trash/recycling, Bathroom. It's been working for me so far in 2012!

  2. Hello! Thank you for sharing such a great printable! Would you be able to save it in a way that we could change a few of the tasks to suit our own household? I love your setup and fonts, colors, etc! Maybe in a word doc or adobe. not sure how you made it. Thanks! :)
