I Forgot How To Blog

http://www.thewonderforest.com/

It used to be second nature. I used to stay up all hours of the night worrying about it and dreaming up new ideas for it. I used to fret and call my friends and ask their opinions all the time about it.

I'm talking to my blog.

You've gone by the wayside. I don't even think about you anymore. Is that bad? Or is that reality?

You don't give me much in return...just pageviews and that's very unfulfilling. Maybe a dollar a week, and that doesn't pay the bills.

What am I going to do with you?

I'd love to be able to say that I'm going to get back into this blogging thing...but there are so many awesome bloggers doing it very well out there that it is hard for me to see the point.

Is blogging a phase for you too? Or is it a lifelong commitment? Are you still in love with your blog?

I went to edit some posts and couldn't remember where the edit icon was located! That's how long it's been since I've paid intense attention to my blog. I'm paying more attention to other blogs now.

What would you do?

I want to be here for you guys, what can I do to be the blogger you need me to be? Give me some feedback...comments welcome.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sarah

  1. You are not alone, I have the same thoughts all the time! For me, I'm sticking with blogging but on my terms. I started this as my retreat, my escape, and my project, I'm not quite ready to leave it yet...but my goodness some days its hard to even pretend to care!lol

    1. Exactly! And the fact that there are so many A+++++ bloggers out there...I don't feel like trying to compete (not that it's a competition). Keep blogging I guess!

  2. I think like life, blogs have seasons. The rush of spring, the heat of summer, changing colour in fall, and coziness of winter. There's nothing wrong with taking breaks and just enjoying the season.

  3. So true....just wondering how long a break can a blog handle without losing all credibility?

  4. I'm right there with you! Thanks to two knee replacements and three long months putting together a family genealogy album, both etsy shops and my blog have suffered all year. I have only managed to keep up my Sunday blog feature and, fortunately, some tutorials I posted over the last few years still bring in lots of traffic. The creative juices are slowly starting up again, so I'm hoping the new year will bring a new creative me!!

  5. I think everyone needs a break from blogging because most people do it out of love for what they're doing (considering it isn't as rewarding in some instances, like you have said), and every once in a while, we will be not have enough drive to do it - but that's okay. As an avid reader (or stalker, but 'reader' sounds cooler) of your blog, you have helped me in so many ways and I don't know where I'd be if I didn't stumble upon Blog Guidebook. Readers will understand if you're having a rut, and we are not pressuring you to post wonderful, diverse, some-other-adjective every thirty minutes or so. We know you're human too and not a five-hundred-foot blog dilemma fighting machine (even though sometimes you seem like one), so blog at your own comfort. xx

  6. I do take a hiatus now and again - to refresh and revamp and rethink. I experiment here at lara-oar (at) blogspot.com. I actually post ahead of time so even I am surprised when I open my email and see a new post. Does that sound weird? I blog for me, period. But your blog is where I come for ideas and you are so good at it, please don't stop!

Comments are how we stay connected as bloggers. Let us know how you feel and we'll return the favor...stay calm and blog on!!! And guess what? You'll never find Word Verification on our blog...it gets kind of annoying when you can't read what WV wants you to verify right?
