How To Tag a Link or Page With a Label Link

The title of this post may be a bit deceptive as I didn't really know how to describe what I want to explain to you...have you given up on me already? Ha ha!

Question:

"I want to create a new PAGE that links to all the posts I have labeled as book there. How do I do that?"

Answer:

There may be an easier way to do this, and please tell me if there is..but this is how I do it.

First, grab the link you'll need to the label you want to use. Don't know what a label is? See the explanation at the bottom of this post.

To find the link, go to POSTS and find the ALL LABELS button shown below.

Scroll through to find the label you want to use. For the example, I chose BGB Resources. Click it and it will show you a list of all posts you tagged with that label.

Now VIEW one of the posts from that list, it doesn't matter which one. When that is opened, scroll down to the bottom of the post and you'll see the label at the bottom.

When you click on this it will take you to the URL you want to use. Now copy the URL from your browser's address bar (shown below).

Here is what I copied: http://www.blogguidebook.com/search/label/BGB Resources

Next step is to create a new page/tab to attach your link to.

Click on PAGES from your dashboard area. Click NEW PAGE and scroll down to WEB ADDRESS (example shown below).

When you click WEB ADDRESS a new box will appear and this is where you paste the URL for your labels. You also need to create a PAGE TITLE...mine would be Resources.

So that is how you link your LABELS to a PAGE/TAB. You can also use this option to link to ANY URL...it does not have to be within your blog...it could be to another blog of yours, Instagram, Pinterest etc.

Have fun and keep blogging!

What on earth is a label?

  2. Okay, I am a bit confused ;-) Maybe I would understand it better if you could explain WHY someone would want a page with links to a certain label? I mean isn't this why you create the labels in the first place then they are all gathered under there anyway?? I guess the page gets more attention maybe?? And I would love to see what that finished page with the links look like.
Thank you so much for all your blogging help. I have used this site for so many things ;-)

  3. OK, I have not done this yet but I do understand it and you just saved me a million years off of my life cause I thought I would have to link each page separately or something much more time consuming!!!! bless you

  6. I am working in blogger, and I have added the "labels" gadget to the sidebar of my blog. If I click on the "Christmas" label in my sidebar, ALL of the posts with the Christmas label come up on one "page." I don't have to go through any extra steps to make that happen. Perhaps this is not the case with other blogging platforms? What you are suggesting seems like a lot of extra work -- but perhaps it's the way to go for platforms other than blogger ???

Comments are how we stay connected as bloggers. Let us know how you feel and we'll return the favor...stay calm and blog on!!! And guess what? You'll never find Word Verification on our blog...it gets kind of annoying when you can't read what WV wants you to verify right?
