Spotlight with Simply Chicks

What says summer more than some time on the farm? Well, I came across Elizabeth and Brie (a mother-daughter team) over at Simply Chicks, who have recreated a farm experience in their back yard. All on one acre! What started as summer project to have a vegetable garden and handful of chickens to lay eggs, their little farm family blossomed into one of the more refreshing and delightful blogs I've read lately.

Elizabeth has a wonderful, easy to read, writing style. Her blog shares her adventures in suburban farming, while celebrating the pleasures of simple living. She has some great recipes with garden-grown ingredients, tips and tricks, the CUTEST (and cleanest) chicken coops I've ever seen, and some chicken bouffants that are cracking me up!! And she doesn't just have bunnies! There are dogs, rabbits, too. She has lots of how-tos and advice for the newbie. Just scrolling through her blog makes me dream of having a real farm experience for my kiddos, even if it is on a miniature scale. You don't need too much space to start one of your own!

So click on over to Simply Chicks and have a gander at all the summer fun on the sweetest backyard farm I've seen.
