Are you familiar with Purl? And The Purl Bee? And The Purl Beehive? NO?! Omigosh. Buzz on over right now (well, as soon as you finish reading this post, of course). If you love anything having to do with the following things, this is the place for you:
• sewing + patchwork
• crafts
• needlepoint
• embroidery
• paper
• notions + tools
This site is gorgeous. It kind of makes me want to drop every creative project I am doing to pursue all things fabric and sewing immediately.
The Purl Bee is the blog associated with Purl. It's bright, cheery, and welcoming. The photos and colors are stunning, and and their banner is darling:
And to top it off, they have their own Beehive—a blog dedicated to showcasing other creative blogs! The Purl Beehive is a group of interconnected online craft journals, you can participate in. Sound familiar? There is a membership fee associated, but you can try it out for two weeks for free with no catch.
Oh did we mention that they have physical stores, as well? Of course they do! It all feels a bit like the Paper Source of the fabric and sewing world. Here is a bit more about them:
"We opened Purl in 2002 with the hope of creating a friendly yarn shop where people could gather and share each other's creativity. In 2006 we opened Purl Patchwork, our fabric shop, just a few doors away from Purl. In April of 2010 we moved our two small stores into one big exciting space in Soho called Purl Soho. From the very beginning our customers have been the inspiring, energetic, funny heart of our business."
What a delightful company and resource. Now go be inspired!

I love Purl Bee! I visit there a few times each week (virtually speaking since I'm in Texas). You hit the nail right on the head with saying their sites are bright, cheery and welcoming. I always have a hard time leaving!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! I will check it out for sure!
