We don't often amble into the "navbar" area of our blog, unless we are in the middle of a design. We wanted to let you know, in case you hadn't noticed, that there is an extra choice in Blogger's navbar configuration choices. You can now turn it OFF or ON.
If it's in the OFF position, you will not see a drop down navbar appear at the top of your blog. No code necessary! Wow! This is a great option if you don't want anyone to know you're using Blogger.

Comments are how we stay connected as bloggers. Let us know how you feel and we'll return the favor...stay calm and blog on!!! And guess what? You'll never find Word Verification on our blog...it gets kind of annoying when you can't read what WV wants you to verify right?

Nice find! I'm going to spread the word :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing that out! It is so much easier now!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone out there know how to see your email subscriber numbers if you use Blogger Dynamic view as a template?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know.

Hi Anne, I think, if I get your drift, you mean how many RSS subscribers? All you have to do is go to your feedburner account and you'll see how many you have.
DeleteWe just wrote a post on that too. http://www.blogguidebook.com/2012/08/how-to-change-delivery-time-of-your.html This will give you the info to find your account too. Good luck! Love your blog!
And this site has some great Dynamic Views tutorials: http://www.southernspeakers.net/
DeleteWhat are your views (if any) on the continuing problem of being unable to upload photos to Blogger and the radio silence from the site administrators? I and many others are pulling our hair out!
ReplyDeleteHi Tom! I don't know if you'll get this...your email wasn't attached to your profile on this comment. But, I did read through all the Blogger Help - Something Is Broken Page...it looks like a Chrome issue. If you're using Chrome right now, you might want to switch back to Firefox. I have stayed with Firefox because I am nervous of losing my blogging powers. Another thought I had, was possibly something to do with using the Dynamic View templates, but not sure about that.
DeleteClear out your cache and cookies and switch to Firefox. I hope this problem gets resolved. Blogger is definitely working on it, but I don't think they're seeing thousands affected yet. Good luck and let us know what happens. Cheers!
Now that I've turned it off, all the 'edit' options under each post and under each layout section of my blog disappeared. How could I get it turned back on (since I can't get to any edit options without it now?) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNever mind! I figured it out. Thanks for the great tutorials.
DeleteGlad you figured it out...what is your blog?
DeleteI was wondering about this too. Is there a way to turn the navbar off, but keep the edit options on?
DeleteJennifer, what did you do to get to your edit options? I'm trying to do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteJean, what I do is save your edit options page (like Layout - or the one you go to most) as a bookmark in my browser, so one click and I'm where I want to be...I think it's really the easiest way to get to the "inside" of your blog without using the front door. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. You have explained it very well.
