Here's a little bit about Fay in her own words:
"I am a graphic designer, desktop publishing professional and illustrator from Cape Town, South Africa. I've spent 14 years working in the advertising design industry and took the freelance plunge 1 year and 2 months ago and still going strong. Most of that motivation comes from doing atleast one-drawing-a-day! I missed the quirkiness of illustration and its come back with a vengeance in all forms of media and advertising. That's why you'll see a lot of my illos are interpretations of popular brands and some of my personal favourites too.
I started my blog and Etsy shop in conjunction with each other 3 and half months ago. Some of my illustrations have been featured in lots of treasuries, one 'fresh' shop article and one Etsy storque article. I've had a few sales (am keen for some more :) and am offering an amazing two-for-the-price-of-one sale at the moment, never too early for xmas shopping!
Drawcity is all about hand-drawn 'drawings' and illustrations. Everything is hand-drawn by me with felt-tip pen only and then scanned in and digitally coloured in the most minimal and simple way. Strictly no photoshop or retouching tricks - none of my drawings are digitally altered in any way! I want to offer all Drawcity fans and customers something unique, handmade and original.
I blog once a day, seven days a week. I try to keep it strictly about drawing and illustration - but I've included posts about treasuries, the odd great offer on stationery. Most of it though is a daily log of drawings and illustrations that I've done and soon to be up for sale in my Etsy shop. One amazing thing that's happened for me - that I never planned on - was a commission from Marta and Alessio, two photographers based out of Milan. They loved my illo' style so much they commissioned a corporate ID job from me. The official listing is now permanently in my Etsy shop. (I've included their pics as well, their shop and blog is called 'Carta Forbice Sasso). So needless to say, I had so much fun doing it and a very happy client, that I now offer this service to all who would like to have a Drawcity treatment to their logo, shop banner or corporate ID. Other than that I take commissions for drawings and illustrations in general."
Sending out a big U.S. hug to Fay in S.A.!
